As it is ready to be taken private by the Alliance family, N Brown Group plans to eliminate over 100 positions at its Manchester headquarters.
According to Drapers, a consultation process involving some 200 employees at its Manchester head office in the Northern Quarter is thought to have started last month.
According to the owner of Jacamo and Simply Be, which has 1,561 employees, the consultation will result in 105 job cutbacks, including 98 at the company’s head office and seven at its supply chain hub. The impacted employees are anticipated to leave the company by the end of October.
Departments including purchasing, merchandising, trading, logistics, finance, data, and creative are reportedly affected by the redundancies.
The company “plans to fully adhere to its legal and regulatory responsibilities in relation to this [redundancy] procedure, which was planned before the [acquisition] talks and has nothing to do with them,” according to a statement posted on the London Stock Exchange.
